The assignement – Video Statements

In our view, in order to become a “virtual superstar”, you need to be media-wise. In order to become media-wise, you need some mediaskills.

We would like you to make a statement for the target group (teenagers). In this statement you can refer to the skills of Jenkins.

1. Discuss about one of the skills of Jenkins (see the skills-page)
2. What statement would you make to the target group (teenagers)
a. Do you think they should present themselves on the internet?
b. What must they absolutely not do to become “famous”?
c. What should they think about before they post something on the internet?
3. Make a statement and make a short video with one of the cameras

Maybe it is more productive to formulate a statement together on paper first!
What, in your opinion are the most important issues (safety, privacy, tips on how to acquire a big audience, copyrights, originality).
Make sure your statement isn’t too long (half a minute should be long enough).
Do you have problems being caught on film? You could use some of our props to avoid recognition

Think about ways to promote your video. We will upload your statement onto this website and Youtube, for you it’s the challenge to get as much viewers as possible. Use your networking skills (tag, link, embedd, use your social network, spread it around)!

In about a month we will show you which of the workshop-participants got the most hits/views and can call themselves true virtual superstars!
